Minor Puppy Dog – Entries 1, Absentees 0

1st Highslade Edge of Glory (Dunne)

Appealing young dog with a nice head and a clearly defined stop.  Adequate bone, good lay of shoulder and good angles.  This youngster is looking raw at present, but has plenty of time to develop and fill his frame. Moved well.  Ringcraft and practice for both dog and handler will help to develop his confidence.

Puppy Dog – Entries 4, Absentees 0

1st Menstonia Endurance (Knowles)

A well balanced youngster with strong bone who presents a clean outline.  His head is well proportioned, slightly domed with a correctly proportioned muzzle and the softest expression.   He has a tidy, straight front, and strong round feet, a good length of neck, set into sloping shoulders, super ribbing for age, firm through topline and loin.  Well angled rear, with wide thighs, & strong hocks, presented in top condition.  He moved accurately at the correct pace. BPD.  Delighted to see him go BPIS.

2nd Lenamore Renegade (AI) (Burchmore & Bowd)

A lot to like about this dog who is developing nicely and scores in outline and size.  He has a masculine head with chiselling below the eyes, a clean throat, well laid shoulder and good depth of body with spring of ribs. Presented in good condition and moved well.

Totally masculine dog.  Correctly proportioned head with good stop.  Pleasing front assembly, standing on excellent feet.  Well off for bone.  Long, muscular neck, good lay of shoulder, solid topline, strong hindquarters with good angles.  Moved soundly in all directions.

2nd Gilstonia Run Red Rum for Aprilflash (Gaylor & Robertson)

Well presented, happy, confident youngster with a nice head of correct proportions and lovely dark eyes, giving a kind expression.  Adequate bone, straight front with excellent reach of neck.  I would like to see a stronger loin and more muscle development in his hindquarters, but he has plenty of time to achieve this. Moved well.

Symmetrical and compact.  Lovely, masculine head with defined stop and soft expression.  Well off for bone.  Good reach of neck and lay of shoulders.  Straight front with excellent, tight cat-like feet.  Correct angles front and back.  Presented in excellent coat and condition.  Moved well with a driving action.

2nd Islanza Hey Dude (Leach)

Another nice dog with much to like.  Similar comments to 1st apply.  However, this dog is slightly longer cast than 1st and was not as confident on the move.  Nevertheless, he has strong bone, good ribbing, plenty of forechest, good rear angles and was presented in good condition.

3rd Julita Rainmaker with Woodelrond (Hankins)

Champion Dog – Entries 1, Absentees 0

1st Sh Ch Heniveruce King of Brewers for Aprilflash ShCEx (Gaylor & Robertson)

Although he stood alone in his class, he was a very worthy winner.  Of the correct size, he has a good outline, is compact, balanced and symmetrical. I would prefer a better length of neck but it is muscular and flows into well laid shoulders.  He has a deep brisket with well-sprung ribs and muscular loin.  Moved well holding his topline.  Pleased to award him the Res CC.

Veteran Dog – Entries 5, Absentees 1

This dog also has a pleasing outline.  He’s in a smaller frame, but is balanced and compact.  He has a finer head than 1st, but I liked his excellent reach of neck and good shoulder placement.  Enough bone, plenty of forechest, muscular body and loin.  Moved soundly.

Bitches

I would like to thank the members of the SEWSSC for voting for me & giving me the opportunity to choose to judge bitches at your friendly club.  Thanks also to the hard working Committee for their hospitality & making me feel so welcome.

Over the last few years entries have declined, but I was happy with the numbers & quality of the bitches on the day.  Care had obviously been taken over presentation & it was lovely to see the exhibits handled so well.

I did find a few incorrect & dirty teeth, but overall dentition was excellent.  Movement was good, although I did find a few exhibits close behind, but on a positive note there were fewer wide fronts.

I was particularly impressed with the quality of the youngsters classes, there were some promising bitches.

Baby Puppy Bitch

1 Shawyer’s Menstonia Hollyhatch Girl BBP A promising puppy, almost 6 months.  Slightly overwhelmed today, but I loved her for make, shape & size, totally feminine.

Minor Puppy Bitch 2

1 Harrison’s Glenbrows Aurora - Promising puppy, unlucky to meet 1st in PB.  Lovely head & expression, neat ears, well developed body for age.  Sound happy mover.

2 Wallace’s Amblelight Meadow Orchid - Smaller mould than one, good presentation with gleaming coat.  Lovely head & expression, moved well, just needs time.

Puppy Bitch 4

1 Knowles’ Menstonia Endless Mist BPB - Cracking puppy has so much promise for the future.  Good bite, feminine classic head.  Good depth of body, well muscled hindquarters, strong parallel hocks.  Moved with purpose.  In the challenge for BP her litter brother gave a polished performance & in agreement with my co-judge awarded him BP.

2 Harrison’s Glenbrows Aurora - 1st in MPB

3 Jessup’s Lenamore Savage Love
